Village Dance Arts, located in Claremont, California, is currently looking for Dance Teachers to join our team in the areas of ballet, jazz, and tap. We seek candidates who will lead dance classes for students of all ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, exceptional communication and teaching skills, and a dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their technical skills, artistic expression, and love for dance.

Key responsibilities

• Teach dance and dance techniques to students ranging from beginners to advanced levels.
• Design, implement, and maintain engaging dance curricula and lesson plans that cater to diverse skill levels and learning styles.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, teamwork, and positive participation among students.
• Effectively communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and other staff regarding student progress, class information, events, and other relevant matters.

Qualifications and skills

• Previous experience teaching dance to students of various ages and skill levels.
• Strong background and proficiency in the dance style you teach.
• Advanced knowledge of dance techniques, proper body alignment, and movement mechanics.
• Excellent teaching and instructional skills, including the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Strong communication skills to clearly explain instructions, provide feedback, and interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire students, fostering a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.

Benefits

Hourly wage ranging from $27-30 per hour, depending on experience. Enrollment incentives are also available.
